A chipped front tooth, a small gap, a spot of discoloration that whitening won't lift. These are the problems bonding solves, and it solves them quickly.

Dr. Perry applies composite resin directly to the tooth, shapes it by hand to match the surrounding teeth, and hardens it with a curing light. There's no lab, no impressions, and usually no second appointment. Most cases involve little or no enamel removal, which means bonding can often be undone or redone later.

That reversibility is the main reason to start here. If you're weighing bonding against veneers, bonding costs less, takes one visit, and doesn't permanently alter the tooth. Veneers use porcelain, resist staining better, and generally last longer.

Composite does pick up stain over time from coffee, tea, red wine, and smoking, and it can chip under heavy pressure. Bonded teeth are maintained the same way as natural ones, and the material is repaired or replaced when it wears.
