General Dentistry
Some things don't respond to whitening. Deep internal staining, a chipped front tooth, gaps that were never closed, teeth worn down from years of grinding. Veneers address all of these at once.
Each veneer is a custom shell of porcelain bonded to the front of a tooth. Because the porcelain is shaped and shaded individually, one treatment plan can correct several concerns instead of a separate procedure for each.
Treatment starts with a consultation. Dr. Perry examines your teeth and gums and confirms whether veneers are the right approach, or whether bonding, whitening, or orthodontics would suit you better.
From there, a small amount of enamel is removed so each veneer sits flush and looks natural. Impressions go to the lab, temporaries protect the teeth, and at your second visit the permanent veneers are fitted and bonded into place.
Because enamel is removed, veneers are a long-term commitment and will eventually need replacement. They also aren't a fix for active decay or gum disease, which are treated first.
If you're weighing veneers against bonding or whitening, a consultation is the fastest way to find out which one fits what you're trying to change.
